Karen Mattison MBE
Co-founder, Women Like Us

ImageKaren frequently appears in the media and speaks at events, addressing topics such as the business benefits of part time work, the growth of the part time recruitment market, the journey back to work after children, social enterprise or the experience of setting up a business from scratch.

Karen has won many awards, most recently the ‘Mumpreneur’ category of Management Today and Cisco’s Business Hero awards (March 2011). In November 2010, she was awarded an MBE for her services to social enterprise. Karen has also been named Social Pioneer of the Year by She Magazine, and won two prestigious Prowess awards (Female Social Entrepreneur and Inspirational Business Mum of the Year).

Emma Stewart MBE
Co-founder, Women Like Us

ImageEmma leads on Women Like Us’ policy and public affairs work. She is a leading spokesperson in the field of women and work, gender inequality and child poverty.

Emma regularly engages with government, sharing Women Like Us’ learnings to help shape policy in relation to mothers and part time work. As co-chair of the Department for Work and Pensions’ Family Friendly Working Hours taskforce, Emma recently made recommendations to government on how to stimulate the creation of more part-time jobs in the UK. She also sits on the London Ministerial Child Poverty Delivery Group.

In November 2010, Emma was awarded an MBE for her services to social enterprise.
