Our story

It all began in 2005 when our two co-founders, Karen and Emma, realised that some of the best candidates for employment were among their own network of fellow mums. Lack of part-time job opportunities was keeping their valuable skills and talents out of the workplace.

At the same time, Karen and Emma knew from their own business experience that employers often want to recruit part-time roles to make the most of their budget. But they find it difficult to access high calibre part-time candidates through traditional recruitment agencies.

Having discovered an entire talent-base of ‘lost women’, and a clear business need, we piloted Women Like Us in north London. We now work across central, south and east London too. And like our kids, we’re growing fast.
