3 hour workshop

Are you applying for lots of jobs and getting nowhere? Or do you need to dust off a CV that’s so old, you don’t know what to do with it? Maybe you’re changing career direction, and need help with how to position your past experience?

Our three hour 'CV clinic' will help you. You’ll learn how to sell your skills, match them to what the employer is looking for, and get your CV to the top of the pile.

What the workshop will cover

We’ll guide you through these areas:
•   What style of CV best suits your career history (we’ll supply alternatives)
•   How to decode job adverts to identify what employers are looking for
•   How to use language that will convince employers you have the skills they need
•   How to target your CV for each job you apply for
•   How to write an ‘evidence-based’ covering letter
•   A recruitment consultant will be on hand to give an employer’s perspective on CVs, and to answer your burning   questions.

You won’t actually write your CV at the session, but you’ll come away knowing how to write it, and the importance of targeting it to suit each job.

It will be friendly and supportive!

What makes Women Like Us really different, is that our qualified career coaches have years of experience working with parents who’ve had a career break. So we know how to write a CV that deals with gaps in your career history or changes in career direction.

It will be fun too. The workshop is an interactive session with practical activities and exercises.

And there will be a maximum of 15 participants – a small enough group for everyone to get some individual support.
