Improving your CV and interviews
This 4 hour workshop aims to help you stand out from the crowd when you apply for jobs. You will learn how to develop a CV that sells your skills clearly and confidently, and that deals seamlessly with a career break to raise a family. You will also learn how to adapt a CV to match the requirements of different employers.
In the second part of the workshop, you will get to grips with the different types of interviews you might encounter, and how to handle them. You will predict questions you are likely to be asked and prepare answers to them. You will practise your interview technique and get some constructive feedback.
This workshop will suit women who have decided on the type of work they want to do, and are ready to apply for jobs. It will particularly suit women who haven’t written a CV or attended an interview for a long time, or who are finding it difficult to sell their skills in a clear and compelling way.
You will leave the workshop with the know-how to develop your CV and will take away some sample CV templates. You will also have some new techniques to help you impress employers at interview. You will understand how to prepare for interviews by predicting questions and preparing statements that sell your skills. In a nutshell, you will feel much more confident, and ready to face employers.
