Free support
We run a programme of support and advice that’s free to most women with children who live in London and who are not currently working, or working less than 8 hours per week. Places on this programme are subject to availability. To find out if we can offer you a place, click here to register with us.
The programme is designed to support women who are thinking about getting back to work after a break to raise a family.
Once you have registered, we will let you know if you qualify, and invite you to come along to one of our introduction mornings, where you can find out more about the service and decide if it's for you. If you don’t qualify for free support, the Women Like Us recruitment team can still help you with your job search, or you may be interested in private coaching.
Read below to find out about the different ways we may be able to give you free support on your journey back to work:
Getting started
If you’ve had a long break from work, it can be hard to get going again. Often your confidence is low, and you feel that your work skills are rusty. We can help you build your confidence and assess the skills you can offer employers.
Knowing what you want
Maybe you don’t want to go back to the type of work you were doing before you had children? Maybe you’re not sure about whether to work part-time or full-time? Maybe you’re worried about the impact on family life if you go back to work? We can support you as you think through your options and reach a clearer picture of what you really want from work.
Overcoming barriers
Sometimes specific problems can get in the way of working. We can help you think of ways to sort out childcare, deal with health or disability issues, or tackle other concerns.
Improving your skills
We can advise you on how to go about gaining skills to get back to work, or to find a better job. Whether you need to build your IT or language skills, or take a vocational course to prepare for a new career, we can point you in the right direction and even help you get a place on a course.
Improving your applications for jobs
You need to make sure your application gets to the top of the pile! We can help you write a more compelling CV, fill in job application forms in a way that sells your skills, and also perform better in interviews. Our practical advice and guidance can make a significant difference to your chance of success in getting a job.
Finding job vacancies
We offer a range of employment services to help you find out about jobs in your area.
