New ways to find jobs
This 3 hour workshop aims to help you access all those job opportunities that you’ve been missing out on. You will learn how to navigate today’s complex job market, thinking through different ways to search for jobs and how effective each method is. Most importantly, you will explore how you can use your contacts to access the ‘hidden’ job market.
You will also assess your skills and learn to target your search, applying only for jobs that are appropriate for you. You will consider when and how to follow up your job applications with employers, to increase your chance of landing the job.
This workshop will suit women who have already started their job search, or are about to start. It will particularly suit women who find the job market confusing, or have been looking for jobs for some time without success.
You will leave the workshop with new ideas for ways to look for jobs, including how to find out about jobs that are not advertised. You will have a better understanding of the online job market, and some new websites to try. You will also have a better sense of how to focus and manage your job applications.
